Privacy Policy

Open Links in Apps is built with local-first link processing and transparent privacy controls.

Last Updated: February 2026

The short version

Open Links in Apps processes all link decisions locally on your device. We don't sell data, run ad networks, or build user profiles. Optional crash diagnostics can be turned off in Settings.

1. Privacy First

Open Links in Apps is designed to improve how links open in Safari while keeping all core redirect processing on-device. We do not transmit URLs, browsing history, or personal identifiers to any server.

2. What Data Is Processed Locally

Core app functionality runs entirely on your device:

  • Preset configuration and profile preferences
  • Per-site rules and exceptions
  • Redirect logs and usage counters stored on-device
  • URL cleanup and redirect decisions made locally

We do not run advertising trackers and we do not sell personal data.

3. Diagnostics and Crash Data

To improve reliability, the app may use diagnostic services such as crash reporting and system diagnostics.

  • Diagnostics may include technical metadata (app version, iOS version, device model, stack traces)
  • Diagnostics are used exclusively for debugging and stability improvements
  • Core redirect behavior does not require cloud processing

4. Third-Party Services

The app may integrate limited third-party tooling for diagnostics:

  • Sentry for crash monitoring
  • Apple MetricKit for system-provided diagnostics

We do not use advertising SDKs, ad networks, or social tracking pixels.

5. Permissions

The app requests Safari extension permission to evaluate and apply redirect rules. No unrelated permissions are required for core functionality.

6. Local Storage and Retention

  • Settings and app state are stored locally using Apple frameworks
  • Log retention can be configured in Settings (1/3/7/14/30 days or never)
  • You can clear logs and local data from within the app at any time

7. Data Security

Local data benefits from iOS sandboxing and Apple platform security controls. On-device data is protected by your device passcode and Face ID / Touch ID encryption.

8. Children's Privacy

The app is suitable for all ages and is not designed to collect personal profiles of children.

9. International Privacy Rights (GDPR / CCPA)
